We have much to be thankful for here in Wisconsin. Almost everyone I deal with are good people, trying to do their best in a crazy world. I sincerely hope you and your family members are doing well and will enjoy Thanksgiving.
The good news is that Microsoft says they are pushing out Windows 11 to more computers, so, if you want it, you might have a new Windows OS soon. Of course, even on Thanksgiving, there is bad news. As I have written before, your computer must have an 8th generation or higher processor and an active TPM 2.0 chip for security purposes.
This means many older computers (like most in my house) will not qualify for Windows 11. I’m not worried because I have been running Linux Mint and Ubuntu on my computers for many years without problems. For those who rely on Windows, however, they will get updates of Windows 10 until 2025 and then their computers will be unsupported.
Computer and chip manufacturers are, of course, happy that Microsoft is forcing the purchase of new computers. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t like to be forced to do anything. It’s probably the same spirit that led to America’s independence from the British.
Well enough of that! Again, I want to wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving. Have a great day.
